The continuing coronavirus outbreak is the best explanation I can give for not yet taking a beach vacation this year. Of course, my past seaside visits have actually been way too infrequent, but I do have memories of nearby places like Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, Ocean City in Maryland, and Atlantic City in New Jersey, in addition to more exotic places, like Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
This scene from an early 1990s trip to Cape Cod in Massachusetts is one of my most memorable. The weeklong trip included much time in Provincetown, a small amount of time in Boston, and this stop at a beach somewhere along the way.
